Renting a car is a viable option for sightseeing around Kathmandu and making a short trip to the hill stations around Kathmandu including Nagarkot, Dhulikhel and Kakani. In Kathmandu, car rental is a better option to using a public transport or a taxi for safety and convenience. Taxis are not always clean and not very flexible on going to certain places. If you have rented a car, you have more flexibility in mobility. It also saves you time. Generally, car rental companies in Kathmandu rent out the car along with the driver. They prefer to send along the driver for safety reasons. It is also safe for you to rent a car along with the driver, as you might not be familiar with the roads and the local norms.
